Should people go to jail when they abuse or abandon their pets?

Go To Jail for Mistreating Animals? YES most definatley. Animals depend on us for everything just as a child does. Being inhumane to either an animal or people is just wrong.

• While it is wrong to mistreat other living beings, not every offense of inhumane treatment of animals should be punishable with serving time in jail. Also, any act of cruelty that is brought against a person should be held to the highest level of proof. In cases of animal cruelty and abuse, there are times when the charges do not reflect the truth of how the animal was treated, and people are sent to jail and their lives are ruined based on lies. Deb Animals are not completely helpless but they need us in the same sense that we need them. Which is ALOT!
