Paul told of a "thorn in his flesh" in 2 Corinthians12:7, but does not specify what it was. His letter to the Galatians, however, contains several suggestions that he had poor eyesight. In Galatians 4:13-15 he speaks of a bodily ailment that was a trial to the Galatians while he visited, and said, "If possible, you would have gouged out your eyes and given them to me." He also seizes the writing utensil from his scribe in Galatians 6:11, referring to the large letters he uses to write, implying that his vision is poor.
Still, Paul suffered many physical challenges. The scar tissue alone from his lashings, beatings, and stonings would have been a constant source of chronic pain. But it does seem quite likely that Paul suffered from poor vision, whether or not that is the "thorn" he is speaking of in 2 Corinthians.
