Can you have dial up internet access on your iPad mini?

The ipad has no modem and has no method by which you could install one. While one can theoretically connect a wireless router to a dial-up modem, it is very uncommon, and has numerous drawbacks. If you are unable to get a DSL / Cable connection, or a satellite uplink if those are not available in your area you maybe be able to set up a connection through your cell phone.
