Do Dugong live in South Africa?

Dugongs are not commonly found in South African waters. Their primary range includes warm coastal areas of the Indian and western Pacific Oceans, particularly around the Red Sea, East Africa, and parts of Australia. However, there have been rare sightings in the region, but they are not considered a resident species in South Africa.
