Yes, it is okay for a cat to have a few peanuts.

As is true with dogs, although macadamia nuts are toxic to them, peanuts are okay. That is why they can have peanut butter I suppose. However, my worry would be with a cat or a dog eating peanuts, that they could get caught in their throats. I would be really careful, but that is just my personal worry.
