What is large green caterpillar eating Japanese maple leaves?

i enable butterflies to complete their life cycle by planting their host plants. it is one of my gardening skills to know the information concerning them. so if you want to eradicate them, consider that you will kill all of the rest of them and other beneficial insects. its your call.
