What type of product is real nappies?

When searching the above questions several sites about cloth diapers came up. Wikipedia was the only site that gave a definition that "Nappy" comes from the United Kingdom in reference to a cloth diaper/ underwear. The other listed sites were to help parents find places to buy cloth diapers.
