Why cant you tell the difference between HD channels. I see no difference when switching from SD to HD?

Firstly make sure the program is being broadcast in HD.
In most instances it is not necessary to have HD, the normal standard if perfectly adequate. HD is useful in some ways where the definition may be important in studying detail.
