1. During the autumn season this shrub produce vibrant scarlet foliage and small red-orange fruit in the fall as well as unusual corky "wings" which flare out along its branches.

2. If you find any pests like borers in the stems(Symptom: Holes in the stem.), then apply Malathion 36WSC in the holes.

3. Deficiency symptom:

i. Phosphorus (P): Purplish leaves, stems and branches.

Control- Apply Rock Phosphate to the soil

ii. Potassium (K): Mottling, brown top, purplish spotting, streaking or curling of leaves, starting at lower levels. Lower leaves scorched or burned on margins and tips. These dead areas may fall out, leaving ragged edges. In grains and grasses, firing starts at the tip of the leaf and proceeds down from the edge, usually leaving the midrib green.

Control - Spray K2SO4

iii. Magnesium (Mg): Loss of green color, beginning between ribs. Leaf tissue between veins and along edges turns reddish purple.

Control - Spray MgSO4 solution
