In order to get the closest possible shave, with the least amount of skin irritation, the Gillette Mach3 Turbo uses a battery as a power source. When engaged, the entire razor vibrates. This vibration causes the hair to 'stand up' so that the razor can remove more of the hair, while 'scraping' the skin less that other razors.
