What is the best insecticide?

I've had success with Wilson's Woolly Whacker.

I wanted something that I didn't need to wash off when I wanted to eat.

It does not leave a residue. You have to soak the plants all over and top and bottom on leaves. It kills all insects it covers, but it won't kill any it doesn't wet.
