How long should a chapter be in a fiction book?

On average there are three to four pages in one chapter, though some books have more.

On average there are 64,000 total Words in a book, though again, some have many more.

It would also depend on whether you are writing a novella or a novel. Novella chapters are usually shorter than novels.

There is no right or wrong when it comes to lengths in a book - only suggestions and opinions.

From an author's perspective I would say "end a chapter whenever it feels right". For example, during a climax moment. All the great authors have different Word counts in each chapter, what matters is timing, not Word count.

I think you should do what your gut says. If you are Microsoft writing i would write about two pages.

I think that you should write approximately 3500-5000 Words or more if you wish but personally your first chapter is the first impression a reader gets of you and you can stylize it to be anyway you want.
