How do you start a clay sculpture?

In its simplest form all you needs is clay and your hands to model it with. Larger sculptures may need the support of an internal wire framework or skeleton. Various tools can be used to shape and incise the clay. A kiln may also be required if the clay sculpture is to be fired or baked.
