When did Shakira's mom meat her dad?

Shakira's parents, Nidia del Carmen Ripoll Torrado and William Mebarak Chadid, met in 1970 in Barranquilla, Colombia. They were both young at the time; her father was a Lebanese immigrant, and her mother is of Colombian descent. Their meeting eventually led to marriage and the birth of Shakira in 1977.
