I think give birth.

The female lays eggs in a pocket in the males stomach and the male takes care of the babies until they hatch. then there on there own. They DONT give birth.

seahorses lay eggs and hatch in the fathers pouch
The female sea horse places her ova (eggs) in a pouch on the male seahorses tummy where they are fertilised. About 3 weeks later (depending upon temperature) the male gives birth to the fry. Yes and that is the answer to everybodys question abut the male seahorse so thank you and good night!!!!!

I thing that the father squirts them out of his belly alive, they are very small.

watch a YouTube clip of sea horses giving birth, you might find out more or if im wrong.

The female seahorse lays eggs and the male seahorse carries the eggs in his pouch until they hatch.
They sort of do both, but I would say that they lay eggs. The female lays eggs in the Male's pouch on its stomach. This is where the eggs are fertilised and where they grow. The male then pushes out the eggs as they hatch into the ocean. This isn't really giving birth so I would settle with laying eggs.

the male give birth and when the baby comes out the male leaves and then the female comes and protect them
