I think give birth.
The female lays eggs in a pocket in the males stomach and the male takes care of the babies until they hatch. then there on there own. They DONT give birth.

The male then pushes out the eggs as they hatch into the ocean. This isn't really giving birth so I would settle with laying eggs.

the male give birth and when the baby comes out the male leaves and then the female comes and protect them
