What is the easiest way to get a golden leaf on Pokemon Heart Gold?

If you have a Pokemon with false swipe,bring it with you.Use false swipe until the Pokemon is on 1 HP.Then,switch to a Pokemon who can give the Pokemon a sleep condition,but do NOT include bug or grass types.This should dramaticly cut down its toughness,so catch it in a ultra ball.
