How do you turn off your computer using the keyboard because the computer is not working?

If you have Windows, press the button to the left of alt and then use arrow keys to get to shut down. Then press enter.

On mine there is a button over the top of escape with a picture of what looks like a fingernail clipping on it. I just tried it out, it turns of the computer onto stand by. it stops the computer dead in its tracks but when it starts up again it starts of where you left of.
