The courtship of the marine toad, or Rhinella marina, typically occurs during the rainy season when males call to attract females. Males produce a series of distinct vocalizations, which can be heard over long distances, to signal their presence and readiness to mate. Once a female approaches, the male climbs onto her back in a behavior known as amplexus, where he fertilizes the eggs as the female lays them in water. This reproductive strategy helps ensure the survival of the offspring in aquatic environments.
