What is an alto cummulas?

Alto cumulus, or altocumulus, is a type of cloud that forms in the middle altitude range, typically between 2,000 and 7,000 meters (6,500 to 23,000 feet). These clouds appear as white or gray patches, often in a layered or banded formation, and can indicate instability in the atmosphere. Altocumulus clouds may also signal the potential for thunderstorms if they develop further. They are commonly associated with fair weather but can precede changes in weather conditions.
