Mass of a blue whale

The newborn blue whale calf weighs about 2.5 metric tons (2.8 short tons) and is around 7 metres (23 ft) in length.

A newborn sperm whale calf is about 13 feet (4 m) long and weighs about 1 ton (0.9 tonnes).
