Who is the killer in The Ring 1 and 2?

Primarily it was Mickey, the film student, played by Timothy Olyphant but Billy Loomis' mother played by Laurie Metcalf was also a killer in this film. She is the one that takes out Randy in the news van for making fun of Billy for being a mamma's boy.
