Reasons for interpreting Philippine History from a Filipino point of view?

As world history always demonstrates, history is written by the victors. In our case, then Spaniards then and Americans thereafter, our history were written by them from their viewpoint with their racial prejudices and exceptionalism. We need to expose all these.
