How do you get rid of goathead weeds?

Biological, botanical, chemical, cultivational and mechanical controls are ways to get rid of goathead weeds. The weed in question (Tribulus terrestris L.) may be controlled biologically by seed-eating puncturevine weevils (Microlarinus lareynii, M. lyproformis) and botanically or chemically by pre-emergent treatments. It responds to such cultivational and mechanical controls as ground-covering all barren soils and keeping lawns -- preferentially of bluegrass, fescue or rye grass -- healthily fed, irrigated and mowed.
