How can I save a plant dying from being overwatered?

carefully remove the plant with it's roots like with a ball of compost/moss place on some kitchen towels and some around it to adsorb the water and sqeeze out the water from the rest that's in the pot then place it all back in he pot and leave it a couple of days and it mite work. (this is just what I'm trying with the same problem though from what I've read online) good luck
