Homemade Applesauce is brown with a hint of red in it if you leave the skins on the Apples. The kind you buy from the store never has the skins on while the Apples are cooking; therefore the Applesauce turns out yellow. My mom makes Applesauce all the time, so I know all about homemade Applesauce. :-)
