To depressurize a fuel system, first ensure the engine is off and cool. Locate the fuel pump fuse or relay and remove it to prevent the pump from operating. Then, carefully loosen the fuel filler cap to relieve any remaining pressure. Finally, use a fuel line release tool to disconnect the fuel line at a safe location, allowing any residual fuel pressure to dissipate.
