Is there anything you can give to your dog to calm him down before taking him to get groomed?

You have this problem too? Yikes. My dog would bite at my dad. Anyways, to calm her down you will need at least two people, some treats, a blanket/towel, and a vet. You will need to ask your vet if tranquilizers will be safe for your dog. If not, then use the other things on the list. If she is aggressive, you will need two people. One to submit her, and one to groom her. To submit your dog, get her to lay down on a table or floor depending on size. Have one person hold her front legs with one hand and her back legs with another hand. The other person who is going to groom should give her some treats before continuing. Oh, and NEVER have a child submit the dog. You're just asking for trouble if you do. Start grooming your dog and keep a towel/blanket under her while you do so. While grooming, be sure to praise her for being calm and scold her for being naughty. NEVER yell at your dog while grooming. She will get all wild and hyper. Just use a calm, steady, low voice to comfort her. Use a firm voice (not a yell) to scold. If you use this method many times, she will not be scared to be groomed anymore.
