Only if your doctor recommends doing so. Diovan and hydrochlorothiazide (hct or hctz) are both diuretics, meaning they cause your body to rid itself of excess fluid. These types of drugs are sometimes called "water pills" because they cause people to "make water," or to urinate, more often. They are often prescribed to people with hypertension (high blood pressure) because excess fluid in the body (which can be caused by eating foods high in salt, which in turn causes one to drink a lot of fluids) will cause an increase in blood pressure. Clonidine is used as an antihypertensive as well, but if your doctor has you taking both medications in the morning, then he may feel that your blood pressure is still not adequately controlled. If this is the case, and you need these medications together to help bring your blood pressure down, taking these together in the morning should not be a problem. If, however, you are not taking one or both of these medications for high blood pressure, then you should talk to your doctor or pharmacist about possible side effects from using these drugs together.
