Why did Lucy the monkey sleep in trees?

Lucy, an early hominin species known as Australopithecus afarensis, is believed to have slept in trees primarily for safety and protection from predators. Sleeping in trees would have provided a safe refuge from ground-based threats and allowed her to escape danger more easily. Additionally, tree canopies offered access to food sources and a suitable environment for her to rest and stay safe during the night.
