Catnip is a great help to break in new cat accessories. Catnip is most potent fresh and will release it's scent more if you hold it in your hand first to make it warm. Sprinkle wherever and watch your cat enjoy tons of fun. Also, catnip will only last from 20-30 minutes and will only be effective once every two hours.
