Why does it hurt when human women have babies?

Childbirth pain is primarily due to the intense contractions of the uterus as it works to push the baby through the birth canal, combined with pressure on surrounding tissues and nerves. Hormonal changes also contribute to increased sensitivity and pain perception during labor. Additionally, the stretching and tearing of the cervix and vaginal tissues can cause significant discomfort. All these factors together create a complex experience of pain during labor.
