It will fit up to 2005 models, including the Mazdaspeed. Primary difference between the hardtops years noted below:
Defroster Pigtail- 90-91 models do not have a defroster.
- 92-97 models have an old style defroster pigtail (N007-67-060A)
- 99-05 models have a new style defroster pigtail (NC11-67-060A)
- Additional items may need to be purchased to make the conversions work.
Frankenstein BoltsAll Miatas will require
frankenstein bolts on the back of the "to-be-hardtopped" Miata.
Side Striker PlatesAny Miata with a hardtop will also require
side striker plates, if not equipped on the new Miata. There are old and new versions changed between 1997 and 1999:
- 90-97 hardtops require NA02-R1-361D and NA02-R1-371D
- 99-05 hardtops require redesigned NA01-R1-361J and NA01-R1-371J
Front LatchesLatches were redesigned for
2003 and are similar to those on your soft top.
- 1990-2002 hardtop models use old style latches: NA01-R1-320M and NA01-R1-310M
- 2003-2005 hardtop models, use new style latches: ND30-R1-320 and ND30-R1-310
