Most of the "major" health insurance companies (i.e., BCBS, Aetna, Humana, UHC, etc.) all provide health insurance plans for "individuals" - adults and/or children. Many states also have "children's health insurance plans" for qualifying families (availability is usually based on some sort of earnings or income "test"). To find what's available in your area, try this:
1. Go to http://www.nahu.org/consumers/findagent.cfm This is the professional organization for brokers (like me) who specialize in health insurance plans for individual and employers.
2. Go to http://www.acforrest.com (my site) or http://www.norvax.com and run some quotes on your own.
3. Contact your state's Insurance Commissioner's Office to find out if there is a children's health plan and, if so, what the requirements are to qualify.
Hope this helps!
