Are the Allegheny mountains steeper than the smokey mountains?

The Allegheny Mountains generally have a more gradual terrain compared to the steeper peaks of the Smoky Mountains. The Smoky Mountains, part of the Appalachian range, feature higher elevations and more rugged topography, with peaks such as Clingmans Dome reaching over 6,600 feet. In contrast, the highest point in the Alleghenies, Mount Davis, stands at about 3,213 feet. Therefore, the Smoky Mountains are considered steeper and more mountainous than the Allegheny Mountains.
