What are present day negative effects from the civil war?

It has been almost 140 years since the US Civil War. Whatever social injustices may exist in the United States today, it's much too late to relate them to the Civil War. Where discrimination exists against Afro Americans, it's because Afro Americans are a minority. There is discrimination against Hispanic people in the USA as well. Once again it's because they are a minority, a large though as approximately 15% of the USA is Hispanic.

In every nation in the world ( a generalization ) there is discrimination against minority groups because of race, ethnicity or religion.
