Rabbits teeth are continually growing and they need to chew on hard substances to ensure the teeth do not grow out of control. You should only allow rabbits to chew on untreated fruit wood. So offcuts of Apple trees etc are a good source. In the wild rabbits will often dig up roots as a food source.
