How does a bear protect itself?

They have many ways to defend them self like speed,size,claws,and teeth.
it depnends on the type of bear it is sometimes with their claws or tethsome climb trees and some run away and dont protect them selves
bears protect them self by standing on their hind legs and making them self look bigger than they really are... etc.
