Where does a carp lay it eggs?

Carp typically lay their eggs in shallow, vegetated areas of freshwater bodies such as rivers, lakes, and ponds. They prefer spots with ample submerged plants, which provide protection for the eggs and developing fry. The spawning usually occurs in spring or early summer when water temperatures rise, and females can release thousands of eggs in a single spawning event. The male carp fertilize the eggs shortly after they are laid.
