How do I keep outdoor furniture covers from getting mold or mildew on them?

I would suggest that you keep the covers from being placed under any type of trees. Tree's produce a lot of pollen that contain acids which are corrosive. I would also suggest that you spray Scotch-Guard on your covers to protect them against the elements.
