Does getting your ears pierced affect your IQ?

If you need to ask this question it is not unreasonable to assume that you have fewer points than the mean IQ, as such despite the low chance of a drop in IQ due to the piercing itself I would avoid getting the piercing because in the unlikely event of developing a complication from the procedure you will probably fail to notice any ensuing infection which due to the proximity to the middle and inner ear and from there potential spread to the cerebral cortex leading to encephalitis, coma and more than a few more lost IQ points.
