Why are fluorocarbons banned from the world?

Fluorocarbons, such as CFCs and HCFCs, are banned due to their damaging effect on the ozone layer, which protects Earth from harmful UV radiation. These chemicals were found to deplete the ozone layer, leading to increased risks of skin cancer, cataracts, and disruption of ecosystems.
