How fast did cars go 100 years ago?

100 years ago would be 1914. In 1914 the best selling car, the Ford Model T, had a top speed of 40 to 45 mph. Most cars of that year had from 20 to 35 HP. There were cars that were faster like the 1914 Stutz Bearcat which had 60 HP. and a top speed of around 75 mph.
