How much does the color of the car affect insurance rates?

I owned a "red" corvette when I was 29 years old, this was in 1990 and it was'nt any more expensive than the Black Trans Am I had previously owned. So I do not think it really matters although traditionally red is more expensive with white or tan being the cheapest.
