The taste of medicine might be modified from sour to sweet so that children would be more willing to take it - why is this?

So it tastes better to eat so children take the medicine to make them better sooner.

On the other hand medicines may be made to taste worse (salty, sour, bitter) so that children will not want to take them for the good taste and overdose.
