Why do you have to be 5 foot 8 to be a model?

I'm not a professional, but I don't think you need to be 5'8 just to be a model, unless it's a different type of modeling that you are talking about, but look at all the child and teenage models, that aren't 5'8. But like I said, unless it's a different type of modeling, this is simply an educated guess.
