In sims 2 castaway ds how do you find the knife?

Hi, Have you carved the canoe all ready? If you have then a arrow should have appeared next to it, it is very tricky to actually use the canoe after you have carved as it takes a lot of pointing with the stylus before you find the icon "use canoe" keep trying as you have to be on the exact spot.
