Putting a pet down

Subject: Putting a pet down. I recently had to have my friend, companion, playmate, loyal and faithful dog of 14 years put down. One of the most heart wrenching things I have ever been faced with! You see, I selfishly kept my dog, Casey way beyond the time she needed to be put out of her pain and misery. I loved her so much, but apparently not enough to let her go. She had gone down from 15 pounds to about 6 pounds. She was suffering from Kidney failure but kept her spirits up by eating and being loyal to me. I thought I was doing the best thing for her - WRONG! I now know I was being very selfish and now I am living with my conscience and it isn't a pretty sight. If anyone out there is Wrestling with this problem, for gosh sakes, do the animal the humane thing and have he or she put to rest. Hilda H.
