wood ducks are a very special species which actually require different things. i have owned woodies for years. no comparison to a mallard. in answer to the question- that is where she chose her nest so she wants it there. its fine theres no water nereby. Sure it is. A wood duck could nest 200 yards from a water source. http://www.scsc.k12.ar.us/2001migration/Projects/GannK/Default.htm The Wood Duck Have you ever experience the sound or sight of a flock of ducks or geese flying over in the fall or summer?
