How many legendarys are there?

In the Pokemon world, some Pokemon are so rare and powerful that they are considered legendary. Out of the 719 described Pokemon species so far, 51 of them are legendary. Sources var on whether Phione should be included as a legendary in which case there are 52 legendaries.
