Why does my dog have an odor from her vagina?

All Dogs have anul glands that secrete a fluid to 'mark' their territory.Sometimes the glands get blocked and in some cases become infected.I would guess (blocked as you say sometimes smells) that this is the problem with your dog a vet can easierly empty the glands for you.
